![]() ![]() ![]() Ruth Lercher Bornstein was born in Wisconsin. This book, in my opinion, is just as fresh and friendly today as it was back in 1973. The placement of the words, along with the cute illustrations, makes it an easy read. Indian Bunny makes a great book for children who are just learning to read on their own. The bunny is adorable and you can’t help but love watching him learn to become an Indian as he engages in activities and with other animals along the way. ![]() Bornstein, compliment the story quite well. Bornstein weaves in various elements of Native American Culture, from having the bunny do a deer dance in a meadow, to wearing an eagle feather, to beating on a drum and learning to sleep in a teepee. I throughly enjoyed hopping backwards in time to enjoy this little classic book from 1973, about a bunny who decides one day to be an Indian.
